Local Walk Ambassador: Rylan
Rylan is a 7 year old boy with bright eyes and a contagious smile. He lives with his Mom, Dad and big sister Delaney (who he adores). At 2 ½ we noticed Rylan knew his alphabet and a lot of words but was not able to string them together into thoughts or sentences. He started speech and language therapy which then led to his diagnoses of Autism at age 4.
He attends an afterschool ABA program and, combined with the fantastic support he gets at his school from his teachers and EA, he has made tremendous strides in language development and social skills.
Rylan loves Thomas the Train, drawing, colouring and writing his own stories. He is passionate about animals, listing The Lion King as his favourite movie, and is hoping to be a zookeeper when he grows up.
Rylan is proud and excited to be this year’s Toronto Walk Ambassador and can’t wait to see you all at the Walk in June at Nathan Phillips Square!
