Local Walk Ambassador: Jett Birch

Jett BirchOur son, Jett, was diagnosed with autism at the age of 18 months. We were so happy to have it address and not looked over at such an early age. With the help of IBI and ABA, some of his more severe behaviours became quite manageable.

Now at the age of 10, he is a happy child who loves music, playing in the water and is fascinated with electronics. While still mostly non-verbal, Jett is able to communicate his wants and needs mainly from words and phrases he has learned through listening to the world around him, apps on his tablet, television shows and songs.

Jett enjoys going to school with other children like himself. His teachers, aides and peers, from day one, have shown so much patience and compassion, that it has helped him excel in all areas. He especially enjoys participating in the annual Special Olympics.

Our whole family is very honoured to help spread awareness by being this years ambassador.
