Local Walk Ambassador: Liam
Liam was diagnosed with Autism prior to his 3rd birthday. In the 7 years since, he has met the challenges of being on the spectrum and blown past any expectation we could have imagined. He is a kind, intelligent, and happy kid who has a passion for video games, board games, and baseball. Looking back, we could not have imagined in our wildest dreams that Liam would or could ever participate in a team sport. Baseball has highlighted the best of Liam. His enthusiasm, passion, and fair play was recognized by his teammates and coaches when they awarded him his teams' Most Sportsmanlike player trophy.
Countless individuals have helped Liam and our family throughout this journey. From the teachers and staff at St. James Co-op Daycare, the Speech Therapists at Building Blocks Speech Pathology, the Doctors/therapists/staff at the Hamilton Children's Hospitals, his friends, teachers, ECE's, and EA's (especially Mrs. DeLuca) at St. Augustine Catholic School, the coaches and teammates at Greensville Minor Baseball, and our amazing family and friends; each of you has made a forever lasting impact on Liam's life.
In 2016 our team, Liam's Lions received so much support from family, friends, & coworkers, we are really honoured to have Liam as the Dundas Walk Ambassador.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the Autism Speaks Canada Walk in Dundas! Come down and meet Liam and the many other kids who take on ASD every day and bring so much joy to our community!!!
