Local Walk Ambassador: Noah
Noah is 3 years old and non verbal. Noah is the middle child in our family, he has an older sister Ashley and Nathan his younger brother. Noah is an extremely funny, happy, energetic little boy who has a certain something about him that can just about brighten anyone's day. Noah absolutely loves Thomas the tank engine. He enjoys colouring, music, books, climbing and running.
Noah was diagnosed on the spectrum at 2 1/2 years old after we had some concerns noticing he wasn't meeting certain milestones in language, communication and social areas of development. We were fortunate to be put into contact with an amazing team of professionals at a clinic in Ottawa called emerging minds and that's were Noah officially got his diagnosis of ASD. We learned so many new skills and were able to have a better understanding of autism. Working with this amazing team and applying the skills we learned has made such a positive difference on Noah's journey.
In September Noah started at Making Connections Nursery School in Ottawa and he absolutely enjoys his time spent there with his wonderful, caring, dedicated teachers and therapists and continues to make progress. He is also making new friends and on occasion will interact with his peers.
Teamnoah is honoured to have Noah as the 2017 Ottawa walk ambassador and to take part in this wonderful event. We are happy to continue to raise awareness and look forward to seeing you all on the walk.
