Welcome to Karen Sleiman's Personal Page
I'm proud to be part of this important cause once again this year and I continue to be involved in the Walk itself as the Chair.
Over the years, I've seen more and more the need for support in so many ways, for those diagnosed with ASD and for parents/families that are trying to give the best care possible for their loved ones.
Please help in funding scientific research, local and national services, advocacy, and awareness.
Whatever your donation, your support is helping change the future for people impacted by autism spectrum disorder.
What is Autism Spectrum Disorder? Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), commonly referred to as Autism, is a complex developmental brain disorder caused by a combination of genetic and environmental influences. ASD is characterized, in varying degrees, by communication difficulties, social and behavioural challenges, and repetitive behaviours and is considered to be a lifespan disorder. An estimated 1 in 68 diagnosed children is on the autism spectrum.
