REGISTERING

How do I register for a Team Up event and by when?
Anyone interested in participating in a Team Up event must complete the online event registration form found on the Autism Speaks Team Up website. Each Team Up event has a certain number of reserved spots, and each event has its own distinct registration fee and minimum fundraising dollars. Registration fees are in U.S. dollars.

How do I register for a Team Up Your Way event, and by when?
Another option is Team Up Your Way. You can Team Up Your Way by participating in a local running/challenge event or alternatively you can create your own personal Team Up challenge fundraiser. If participating in a local run, you must register on the local event’s official website as you are responsible for paying the event’s registration fees.

Is there a fee to participate for Team Up events?
You do have to pay the registration fee associated with the event in which you are participating, and also meet the minimum fundraising criteria for that event. Signing up for a Team Up event allows you to access a reserved spot and also provides you with the fundraising tools to make fundraising easy. To register for a Team Up event, you must complete the online registration form found on our (American) Autism Speaks Team Up website.

Is there a fee to participate in Team Up Your Way events?
Autism Speaks Canada does not charge participants a fee for creating a personal fundraising page.

Why we created the site:
To support Canadians participating in Team Up events, we have developed a stand-alone Canadian fundraising site that will allow Canadians to solicit donations from friends and families living in Canada and receive an official Canadian tax receipt for their donation. To access this fundraising tool, Canadian participants will need to create a fundraising profile on our Canadian Team Up website.

I would like to fundraise in support of Autism Speaks Canada
If you are participating in a Team Up Your Way event and want to support Autism Speaks Canada by fundraising we encourage you to create an online fundraising page. Once created, invite friends, family and colleagues to support your efforts. There is no additional cost, fundraising minimum or maximum to sign up for Team Up Your Way.

How can donors make pledges?
Every registered Team Up and Team Up Your Way participant is able to customize their online fundraising page and send email donation requests to friends, family and colleagues through the secure portal. When donors are sent the fundraising link, they need to click on it to make a donation to you. All donations made online appear immediately on your fundraising page, giving you the opportunity to track your success. Donors will receive an automatic tax receipt via email.

What if I don’t reach the Team Up fundraising minimum?
Team Up participants have fundraising minimums they must raise in order to participate and if these minimums are not reached, the participants' credit cards will be charged the difference. Canadians please note, the fundraising minimum is in U.S. funds.

DONATIONS

Are donations tax deductible?
Donations of $20 or more made through our Canadian fundraising site will automatically be issued a charitable tax receipt sent to their email upon a successful transaction. If submitting cash or cheques, please allow for 6-10 weeks for donors to receive tax receipts upon receipt of funds to our office. Autism Speaks Canada is a registered charity 869420208 RR0001.

Will donors incur additional fees?
No, there are no transaction or additional fees incurred by the donor.

Team Up Participants
Team Up participants will receive notifications and coaching on an ongoing basis from our American Team Up team. As part of your running package you will receive everything prior to your race.
